The movement, led by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya , has been perceived as a potential disruptor to established Western Kenya parties like ODM and Ford Kenya . However, Barasa insists that the recently signed political pact between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga is the real force that will consolidate the Luhya vote.   ā€œODM is very strong in Kakamega, Busia, and Vihiga. In his speeches over the past few months, Gov. Natembeya has specifically targeted NA Speaker Wetangula's Simba Party, Ford Kenya, terming it an old, ineffective institution that should be shut down due to its failure to deliver to the people of Western Kenya. Gov. Natembeya has called on all Western Kenya communities to rally behind him to reach Canaan, which he claims to have seen. " I have seen Canaan, and I can attest that Canaan is good.
