Wakoli was cleared today by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to vie for the position. Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka was in attendance, with a host of Ford Kenya Party officials, Members of Parliament and a host of MCA's. Governor Lusaka promised a more vibrant campaign than what was experienced in the just concluded August elections. Hon. Bukusu council of elders Kimilili branch has congratulated the Ford Kenya party for successfully holding it's National delegates Meeting at the Bomas of Kenya on the 6th of November 2021.  In a congratulatory message from the council's secretary general, Martin Wakoli Sakwa, the council also noted and advised the opposing Wamunyinyi/Eseli faction to seek reconciliation with the elected leadership sighting their readiness to spearhead mediation talks between the two factions.
