Trans-Nzoia Governor Faces Conflict of Interest Charges in High-Stakes Court Battle Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has been formally charged with the unlawful acquisition of public funds amounting to Ksh 3,252,568 , amid damning allegations of conflict of interest involving companies trading with his administration. According to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the funds were unlawfully obtained through payments by the county government to Lyma Agro Science Limited, Maira Stores, and Easterly Winds Limited between January 1, 2023 and April 30, 2025—transactions in which Governor Natembeya is alleged to have held an indirect financial interest. Yet now, issues that should bound the community together are addressed through public confrontations, igniting violence and discord within the larger Mulembe community.
