He was speaking yesterday during an interdenominational thanksgiving service at Kabarnet ACK showground in Baringo County. The President was accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, elected leaders and former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala. President William Ruto yesterday assured Kenyans especially those at Kerio Valley of his Government's commitment to restore peace and empower farmers in the region.  He said the government will take decisive measures to ensure security in Kerio Valley.  President William Ruto said the Government is determined to end cattle rustling in the region and ensure farming activities around region gets the support they deserve. “We will ensure this region is peaceful, we want our children to go to school and the people to focus on meaningful economic activities." ~~Pres

  CPD- State House Kenya. President William Ruto. The Kazi Mtaani Programme will be converted into a tree-planting initiative, President William Ruto has announced. He said the move will help address the adverse effects of the climate change that Kenya is facing. “We have to initiate long-term resilience activities to cushion the people against drought and food insecurity,”  ~~President William Ruto. He spoke at State House in Nairobi on Friday when he exchanged views with the business community and development partners on the drought situation in Kenya. The President said the situation was still dire especially in 20 counties due to crop failure as a result of failed rains. “We must consolidate our solution to the situation. We are still requesting for more funds targeting more immediate response,” President William Ruto. He told the meeting that the Government will continue offering support to farmers to produce more food.
