MASINDE CLEARED BY IEBC TO VIE FOR BUNGOMA SENATE SEAT, ASKS COMPETITORS TO MANTAIN PEACE THROUGHOUT THE CAMPAIGN PERIOD!

What you need to know;

  • Hon. Julius Masinde was today cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC to vie for Bungoma Senate Seat.

  • Hon. Masinde was cleared to vie as an Independent Candidate.

  • Masinde warned his competitors against promoting violence and asks them to stick to their lanes in ensuring a peaceful campaign period.

  • Masinde has promised to reach all corners of Bungoma County to sell his agenda to the voters. 

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC has today cleared several candidates to vie for the Bungoma Senatorial seat, left vacant by the resignation of former Senator, Moses Wetangula to vie for the National Assembly Speaker which he won.

Hon. Julius Masinde was cleared to vie for the seat on independent ticket having met all the requirements set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Hon. Masinde expressed his satisfaction of the clearance process after he was given his certificate and promised the people of Bungoma the best of elected Senator.

On his campaign strategy, Masinde was quick to mention that he is willing to get to all parts of Bungoma County to sell his agenda to the people.

He further went ahead to call upon all candidates cleared and those to be cleared in the coming days of ensuring they mantain a peaceful county by leading campaigns peacefully devoid of violence and negative confrontations.

This is after it was evident that posters of immediate former Bumula Member of Parliament, Mwambu Mabonga who was also cleared today were being placed on top of Madinde's posters, which according to the law is an electoral offence.

Masinde called upon the Independent Commission to take stern action against the Candidate for the offense committed.

I call upon the Independent Commission to take stern action against aspirants who are propagating for violence and negative confrontations for commiting electoral offences that are obvious with them. We need to mantain a peaceful campaign period but if anything we are prepared and ready for it. ~~Hon. Julius Masinde, Bungoma senatorial hopeful.
