Since the early decades, when people would capture others for sale in slave trade, the global crime rate has been rising. In Kenya, different communities would engage in cattle rustling to steal cattle for their communities and bride prices. However, crime has continued to change its face and form over time. Some of the crimes that are currently being committed include: capital crimes or offenses, as well as minor offenses such as terrorism, burglary, pickpocketing, street snatching, poaching, rape, and killing, among others. Cherera led the team of four to denounce Chebukati's Bomas results which were uphold by the court. Cherera's resignation follows that of Commisioner Justus Nyang'aya . IEBC Vice chair person Juliana Cherera has today tendered her resignation letter as the Commision's Vice Chair. Her resignation follows that of Commisioner Justus Nyang'aya recently who also resigned as a Commisioner of the Independent body. Cherera and Nyang'aya were among the four IEBC desenting Commisioners who disputed Chairman's Wafula Chebukati's results of announcing President William Samoei Ruto as the President-elect.
