8 DIE IN AN ACCIDENT AT NGATA AREA, NAKURU

At around 3:30 am today, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Ngata area, Nakuru, along the Soilo-Salgaa stretch of the Great North Road, resulting in the loss of eight lives.


As reported by Nakuru County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi, this tragedy occurred when a Matatu, carrying passengers from Kitale to Nairobi, collided head-on with a truck.


The Ngata stretch has long been known as one of the most dangerous black spots. The government had previously pledged to transform it into a dual road in an effort to reduce such accidents. I earnestly appeal to the government to expedite these improvements to prevent further road accidents.
