Kimilili's 2027 succession politics is one of its kind. Confirming the Swahili saying of "Siku njema huonekana asubuhi," a bad one too. In this case, it is not as bad as you may think but "Very Competitive" is the phrase.

With several aspirants showing clear signs of giving a stab at the now Didmus Barasa's office, Kimilili Member of Parliament, it is not yet clear who will match all the way to the ballot for many reasons, political dynamics considered.

For MP Didmus Barasa, it is not among his options come 2027. His forcus of late has switched to now Lusaka's County job, Bungoma County governor. Earning a christian like title, Bishop, Wa Barasa's concentration is to father Bungoma as a whole in 2027 not to preach and perform miracles as the later day priest's but to try and find cure to the many problems of Bungoma that Governor Lusaka would not have cured by then.

What remains unaswered is who the MP will work with not just to win his first gubernatorial stab as his chief agent if the name suits in Kimilili but also the next Member of Parliament.

Dr. Norman Allan Soita is one man who looks positioned closer to Barasa and his interest in Kimilili Parliamentary seat is not just a threat to opponents who have been trying different means to pocket the MP's vote and those of his many staunch followers but an indication of a possibility in waiting. His positioning is likely of "The Man in the middle."

Speaking to Daktari, it is not about who the current MP supports but who is willing to build on his legacy. He registers his confidence in being the people's favorite, something he says will dictate the other necessary support since he has nothing to come and do against what has been done so far but build on the good legacy that Barasa will leave behind.

Dr. Norman Soita & MP Didmus Barasa in a past campaign function.

"It is important to note that Hon. Didmus Barasa has been tramendous in matters development in Kimilili. He is a man that has brought around a positive twist especially in our educational infrastructure that today a school in the most rural of our constituency has a storey building thus a good and safe learning environment. That is the beginning point if we have to talk about good results in education as a people of Kimilili. Some of us went to very poor schools in terms of infrastructure but by God's grace managed our way out to go and meet storey's even as high as in Universities but today Kimilili is different.

For me, I will come to build on this legacy, maintenance is key and no one can maintain what they have been against. You can attest that all those people interested in this seat have in one way or the other been against Barasa's development plan which is a darling to the people of Kimilili. Such people cannot improve anything once given chance but will completely forget about the good projects our MP has been doing here.

The Didmus Barasa's way...

My task will first be to make sure that every project started by my predecessor to be, Hon. Didmus Barasa is carried on to completion if not completed and maintain high standards as I also launch my new ideas for our people. "

Aware of the demands of the game, the competitiveness and many other aspects in play, Dr. Soita is ready and willing to leave no storn unturned,he is into villages writing his winning script with the people.

4 years is as a long time as 4 minutes in a football match, you don't celebrate before the game results are sealed. Every aspirant is trying every means possible to seduce the current MP and as many voters as possible and Dr. Norman Allan Soita is too giving his best warm up skills.
