The Media has recently been having a conversation that seems not to be ending any time sooner, a conversation whose genesis is Kimilili Constituency, one about the over 10 Storey Buildings constructed under the patronage of the now MP, Hon. Didmus Barasa.
Hitting headlines in the royal-media owned Citizen TV, it was reported that among the 12 Storey-classrooms constructed by Hon. Didmus Barasa, area MP, only 2 appeared to be in good condition at the time of “scrutiny.” However, local leaders led by Dr. Norman Allan Soita have expressed dissatisfaction and termed the report as “Normal Media Hearsay.”
Dr. Soita has defended MP Didmus Barasa and assured residents not to be worried about what the media was reporting on what he says is normal cracks any building can have. Dr. Soita states that such normalcy can’t be a reason to put the buildings on caution for use.

“ A few cracks here and there on the walls of a building is never a sign of weakness of that building. Our Kimilili buildings were approved by structural engineers before allowing pupils to occupy them. I request the media to be scientific in their reporting, and not rely on political hearsay…”
~Dr. Norman Soita on the recent reports on the state of Kimilili CDF buildings.
On his part, speaking in a funeral at Matili RC Primary MP Didmus Barasa said that the news around the buildings is politically sponsored by people who want to stand in his way up to becoming Bungoma Governor which he assured residents of dealing with it and everyone who stands in his way.
Barasa preached optimism and affirmed his commitment to doing more and better as he prepares the way for the new leadership which Dr. Soita has shown interest as he advances his roles to the county governor if elected come 2027.
Also in defense of MP Didmus Barasa is Ford Kenya National Youth Coordinator , Wanjala Sakwa who called upon Barasa’s opposers to find a way of approaching the Kimilili Member of Parliament to offer them with development manuals and free lectures lessons on how to go about it instead of tainting his name and the work he has done for the people of Kimilili.

"For the politicians sponsoring fake news on Media about the status of Kimilili Storey’s, it is high time you humble and approach Hon. Didmus Barasa for a short lecture on how to go about development instead of what you are doing thinking that you will derail his Governorship ambitions. Please note that Hon.Didmus Barasa is Bungoma’s next governor."
~Ford Kenya National Youth Coordinator, Wanjala Sakwa…
