In a pre-dawn operation, authorities intercepted a Nairobi-bound bus from Moyale, uncovering a significant drug smuggling attempt. Acting on precise intelligence, anti-narcotics detectives, supported by the Operations Support Unit, halted the Score Investment Ltd bus at the Blue Post section of Thika. Their thorough search led to the discovery of 417g of cocaine concealed beneath the inner soles of a passenger's rubber shoes.

The arrested individual, identified as 24-year-old Charles Obaga Kavehere, was immediately apprehended. Further investigation at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) revealed additional drugs concealed within his person. It was uncovered that Kavehere had also ingested sachets of narcotics, intending to expel them upon reaching his destination.

Currently, Kavehere remains in the custody of JKIA's Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), awaiting the expulsion of the ingested drugs and undergoing legal procedures.
