In the heart of Vihiga County, deep in Kenya’s Western Region, a young girl dared to dream beyond her circumstances. Born into financial hardship, Violet’s journey was marked by struggles that could have easily broken her spirit. But instead, they shaped her into a woman of resilience, determination, and unshakable faith.


From an early age, Violet understood that education was her greatest weapon. She studied relentlessly, even when resources were scarce. Electricity was unreliable, and many nights were spent reading under candlelight. School fees posed a constant challenge, but she refused to let that stand in her way. She took on small jobs, sought scholarships, and did whatever it took to remain in school.


Her ambition only grew stronger after high school. University felt like a distant dream, one that seemed almost impossible. But giving up was never an option. She worked tirelessly, balancing part-time jobs with her studies, and pursued a degree in finance. She knew that financial knowledge was more than just numbers, it was the key to transforming lives, including her own.


Yet, the real test began after graduation. The job market was unforgiving, and rejection became an unwelcome companion. But Violet refused to let failure define her. She took internships, networked aggressively, and honed her skills. Each setback only fueled her determination to succeed.


And then, the breakthrough came. She secured a position at Britam Insurance, one of Kenya’s leading financial institutions. There, she discovered her true calling, helping people secure their financial future. Her own experiences with hardship gave her a unique ability to connect with clients on a deeper level. She understood what it meant to struggle, and she made it her mission to educate and empower others through financial planning and insurance.


Her hard work did not go unnoticed. In no time, she climbed the ranks, establishing herself as one of Britam’s top financial consultants. But for Violet, success was never just about personal achievement. She now dedicates her time to mentoring young women, sharing her story, and reminding others that their past does not define their future.


Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, faith, and relentless pursuit of dreams. If there is one lesson to take from Violet’s story, it is this: No dream is too big, and no obstacle is too great. Where you come from does not determine where you can go.
