“From Despair to Destiny: Hon. Wambilianga Rescues Dreams of Bungoma’s Daughters”

EoK Reports| News Desk

In a heartfelt demonstration of leadership with purpose, Bungoma Woman Representative Hon. Catherine Wambilianga has once again reaffirmed her commitment to educational empowerment for girls across the county—transforming shattered dreams into stories of hope.

On Monday, the spotlight fell on Sharon Ayieko, a determined and intelligent student from Chesikaki Ward. Studying at Chwele Girls’ High School, Sharon walked into Hon. Wambilianga’s office not just to seek support but to fight for her future. Moved by her courage and resilience, the Woman Rep awarded her a full NGAAF scholarship, pledging not only financial support but personal mentorship through to her Form Four graduation.

“Her dream of becoming a doctor stirs my heart. In a world that desperately needs healers, Sharon’s hands hold the promise to restore lives. I vowed to walk beside her as a mentor and friend,” said Hon. Wambilianga in a public post.

And today, another story of hope unfolded. Juma Shantal, a brilliant student from Ndalu Tabani Ward, was staring at the grim reality of dropping out of school due to lack of fees. A student at Cardinal Otunga High School, her educational journey was hanging by a thread until now.

“We have taken the initiative to fully sponsor her secondary education through to completion,” the Woman Rep announced, “No child should be left behind simply because she cannot afford school fees.”

The NGAAF scholarship program under Hon. Wambilianga’s stewardship is not just a safety net—it’s a springboard for girls from vulnerable and marginalized communities to rise, thrive, and lead.

Investing in Dreams, Building the Future

This isn’t charity. It’s strategic nation-building. With every girl rescued from the cycle of poverty, Bungoma inches closer to a brighter, equitable future. Hon. Wambilianga’s focus on girls’ education echoes global development goals and reflects a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education.

As we celebrate these two young women Sharon Ayieko and Juma Shantal we are reminded that when women lead with compassion and courage, entire generations rise with them.
