In a bold and unapologetic statement that has stirred fresh political debate in Vihiga County, Hon. Kidake Alex Malova has taken aim at Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, accusing him of overstepping his mandate and failing to deliver meaningful change to the county.

On his Social Account (Facebook), Kidake reminded the senator that his core constitutional mandate is not to manage counties, but to represent county interests at the national level, legislate, allocate revenue, and conduct oversight of county spending.

“Let me remind Senator Osotsi that he is not a county manager. That role belongs to the governor. The Senate’s duty is oversight, legislation, and protecting devolution—not chasing executive functions,” said Kidake.

He further asserted that effective leadership requires strong financial and strategic acumen, rather than public showmanship or social media rhetoric.

“Good managers are grounded in finance and marketing. Important financial decisions aren’t made on timelines—they’re made in boardrooms,” Kidake emphasized.

The outspoken Vihiga Gubernatorial hopeful didn’t hold back, questioning Senator Osotsi’s political identity and commitment to the community.

“Osotsi seems confused—even about his background. One day he's Maragoli, the next day Munyore, then Mjaluo. He calls everyone ‘uncle’ just to fit in. Our people need leaders with clarity and conviction,” he said.

In a culturally charged tone, Kidake stressed the significance of respecting Luhyia traditions, stating that those who do not adhere to rites such as circumcision should not dictate leadership directions in the community.

“According to our Luhyia culture, leadership must respect our traditions. Outsiders who don’t observe them should not impose their authority on us,” he declared.

Concluding his address, Kidake called for a new wave of leadership rooted in integrity, transparency, and cultural respect, urging residents to demand more from their elected representatives.

“It’s time to stop being political projects and start being real leaders. Our people deserve accountability, dignity, and genuine representation,” he concluded.
