The political drums in Vihiga are already beating ahead of 2027—and two of the county’s most influential voices have caught the public's eye with a surprisingly warm political exchange.

Hon. Kidake Alex Malova, known for his grassroots mobilization and eloquence, has hinted at deeper ambitions as the county gears up for the next political cycle. On his Social Space (Facebook), Kidake dismissed any notion of political rivalry between him and Vihiga Woman Representative Hon. Beatrice Adagala, who has already declared her gubernatorial interest.

“There will be no conflict between my dear sister Hon. Adagala and me. She is our sister, and we love her. She recognizes my abilities, and when the right time comes, I am confident she will support me. We understand that UDA intends to give the ticket to Hon. Omboko. Now is the time for our people to unite and claim what rightfully belongs to them,” said Kidake.

In a swift and equally heartfelt response, Hon. Adagala maintained her political confidence while throwing in a signature punchline:

“My good brother, I am very sure as your elder sister you will support me fully. I will place you somewhere. Study me slowly as you grow—and then you will take over after 10 BB (Bila Break),” she said, sparking both admiration and laughter among her supporters.

The back-and-forth has sparked online debate, with supporters praising the civil tone between the two leaders. Political analysts note that the exchange reflects a strategic balancing act in Vihiga—where youthful ambition meets seasoned political tact.

The UDA wave has already begun drawing attention in the region, with few insiders pointing to Hon. Omboko Milemba as the party’s presumed flagbearer. However, both Kidake and Adagala seem determined to shape the narrative around unity, loyalty, and progressive leadership.

As Vihiga's political landscape evolves, one thing is clear—the battle lines may be drawn, but the bonds of kinship and community are far from broken.
