💥 Gachagua Purges DCP Founders in Ruthless Power Grab, Malala Reduced to Ceremonial Flower Girl

EoK Reports |By EoK News Desk

In a jaw-dropping twist just two weeks after the flashy launch of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has executed a political massacre—firing top party officials without warning, decapitating the party's founding leadership, and throwing his own deputy Cleophas Malala under the political bus.

🚨 Malala: From Co-Founder to Flower Girl

At the center of this purge is a man once hailed as the party’s national face—Cleophas Malala. Today, insiders say he’s nothing more than a decorated mascot.

Malala wasn’t just excluded from the decision-making table—he was ambushed. Gachagua, with zero consultation, axed Malala’s closest allies from key party organs, replacing them with political loyalists handpicked from his inner circle. The move stunned party members, including Malala himself, who was left smiling in public while fuming in private.

"He has no say. No seat at the table. He’s now the guy who holds the mic and dances on stage," a source close to the party told EoK. "Gachagua played him like a fiddle."

🪓 Full Sweep of Founders

In a gazette notice dated May 30, Gachagua fired the National Chairperson, Secretary General, National Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, and every key caucus leader. Every single one of them had ties to Malala or was seen as an independent thinker. All were replaced by loyal Gachagua operatives.

Even the Youth and Women caucuses—pillars of any serious political base—were reshuffled to sideline dissent and consolidate control.

Here are just a few of the heads that rolled:

  • Thomas Ratemo (Chairperson) → Replaced by David Mingati Parseina
  • Mably Owino (Secretary General) → Replaced by Hezron Obaga
  • Joy Gatugi (Organizing Secretary) → Replaced by Franklin Mithika Linturi
  • Joel Sang (Youth Chair) → Replaced by Serah Wanjiku Thiga

🎭 "Listening" Party Becomes One-Man Show

DCP’s official logo features an ear, promising to "listen to Kenyans". Yet the party boss doesn’t even listen to his deputy.

What started as a hopeful new movement has already turned into a one-man regime, fueled by ambition, paranoia, and zero tolerance for dissent.

"This is not democracy. This is Gachagua's private club with a new name," said a senior DCP insider, now contemplating resignation.

🔥 Fallout Coming?

The purge has sparked internal shockwaves. Branch leaders in Rift Valley, Coast, and Western Kenya are demanding explanations. Party operatives aligned with Malala are reportedly considering a walkout. And grassroots mobilization has gone cold.

Whether Malala will continue to be a smiling statue at Gachagua’s rallies—or finally speak up—remains to be seen. But one thing is certain:

DCP’s honeymoon is over. The dictatorship has begun.
