“BUNGOMA BELONGS TO YOU!” – HON. TIM WANYONYI DECLARES IN UNPRECEDENTED PEOPLE-FIRST LEADERSHIP MODEL

In a bold and refreshing move that is fast setting him apart from the traditional political class, Hon. Tim Wanyonyi today reaffirmed his commitment to a leadership style anchored in public consultation and people-powered development. Through a well-attended online engagement with Bungoma residents, Wanyonyi once again proved he is a man on a mission — not to dictate to the people, but to build with them.

"Today, I want to listen to you on how we can make Bungoma a home for all of us to own and thrive. Governance belongs to you, and as your servant, my utmost duty is to listen to your needs and serve you,"

...he said ahead of the session, signaling the tone of a leadership style that places the citizen at the center of decision-making. His message carried the weight of a promise and the humility of a servant leader — all under his famous slogan and tag, #SiMimiNiSisi .

But today’s digital dialogue is just part of a wider effort. Over the past weeks, Wanyonyi has been holding offline, grassroots engagements with youth groups, business owners, community health promoters, religious leaders, professionals, people in the transport sector among others, and he continues to do so to actively gather input that he says will directly shape his manifesto and post-election agenda. This deliberate and continuous engagement, both online and offline, is setting a new standard in participatory leadership rarely seen among the current crop of leaders.

“I will continue to CONSULT YOU through such online forums and one-on-one engagements,” Wanyonyi affirmed after the session. “I VALUE YOUR INSIGHTS on how we can build Bungoma together.”

Unlike politicians who roll out manifestos crafted in isolation by think tanks in Nairobi or foreign consultants, Wanyonyi is insisting that Bungoma’s people must be involved from the crafting to the execution of the county’s next development blueprint. He has made it clear: no policy will be imposed from the top-down if it does not reflect the will and wisdom of the people.

As the 2027 race builds momentum, Wanyonyi’s message is gaining traction: that Bungoma does not need a ruler — it needs a listener. Not a king — but a servant. His movement is not about slogans and handouts, but a shared dream for a home all Bungoma people can own, thrive in, and be proud of.

If the tone of today’s engagement is anything to go by, then Bungoma’s most inclusive political journey may have just taken off — and Hon. Tim Wanyonyi is asking the people to be the co-pilots.
