Vihiga Woman Rep, Hon. (Dr.) Beatrice Adagala 

Vihiga County Woman Representative, Hon. (Dr.) Beatrice Adagala, clinched a prestigious continental leadership position recently after being elected Vice Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Executive Committee for a three-year term.


The election, held during the 54th Annual CPA Africa Conference in Banjul, The Gambia, places Hon. Adagala at the heart of regional parliamentary diplomacy, signaling her growing influence and leadership stature beyond Kenya’s borders.


“This honour is not mine alone – it is a win for Kenya, for Vihiga, and for all who believe in the power of parliamentary diplomacy, inclusivity, and good governance,” ~~Hon. Adagala said in her appreciation message, pledging to champion unity, youth and women’s leadership, and sustainable development across Africa.


Analysts say this victory positions Adagala as a transformational leader, raising her profile as she eyes the Vihiga Gubernatorial seat in 2027. Her election is seen as proof of her ability to earn trust at the highest levels, negotiate for opportunities, and lead with integrity, qualities Vihiga desperately needs to unlock its full potential.


Political observers note that as CPA Vice Chairperson, Hon. Adagala will not only shape regional legislative agendas but also create opportunities for Vihiga through stronger intergovernmental linkages and resource mobilization. Her pan-African role amplifies Vihiga’s visibility on the continental map, a move many say could attract partnerships for development, governance reforms, and investment in key sectors.
