MUNOKO OR WAKOLI? BUNGOMA SENATE RACE UPDATE, ONE ON ONE WITH ELIUD WANYONYI FROM NAITIRI
- Ford Kenya party has cleared former Wetangula's PA Wafula Wakoli to contest for the senate seat.
- Raidon Munoko, a vibrant and youthful aspirant is vying for the same seat as an independent candidate.
- UDA Party has not come out clear on who their candidate with two of their aspirants going to court to seek clarification around the party ticket.
With slightly a month to the Senatorial by elections in Bungoma slated for 8th December 2022, voters in Bungoma have started aligning themselves with their preferred choices.
Ford Kenya party handed a nomination certificate to their senate flag bearer Wafula Wakoli, giving him a go ahead to the ballot.

Eliud Wanyonyi from Naitiri is an economist by profession and is among the few individuals who have decided to align themselves early.
Mr. Wanyonyi argues of the two candidates both youthful that Raidon Wekesa Munoko stands tall and should be given chance to represent the people of Bungoma in the senate.
The young people of Bungoma have been given an opportunity. An opportunity to express themselves. An opportunity to free themselves or choose to remain captives of senior politicians. There has been an election and appointments have been made. No level of governance appointed more than 30% of their appointees as youths. The youths should now start "Employing" fellow youths directly. The opportunity before us is an opportunity of employing through the ballot. I propose Raidon Munoko for that will solve among many, three things of concern; 1. We will have sent a message to our senior politicians that we deserve a right to choose our leaders. 2. That we are coming for 30% because we form the compact majority of voters. 3. That issues affecting Young people require solutions that are not pegged on political parties. We need a good political Will. For these and many other reasons Raidon Munoko is likely to pull a surprise in Bungoma. ~~Economist Eliud Wamalwa Wanyonyi.

Asked why not Ford Kenya's Wafula Wakoli for he is also a youth, Mr. Wanyonyi opines that Wakoli carries no interest for the people of Bungoma as far as oversight is concerned for a reason he dines with those he is supposed to oversight!
Mr. Wanyonyi is of the opinion that electing Wafula Wakoli will not solve Bungoma's problems but his own. He adds that Wakoli's rule will be an extension of Wetangula rulling by the backdoor and not that Wetangula is bad but because there is need for a more independent Senator to get Bungoma to the next level.
Why not Wafula Wakoli?
Wafula Wakoli has been an employee of wetangula. I feel like voting for him is allowing wetangula to rule through him. We want a senator who is not being influenced by wetangula and a senator who will not look at Lusaka as his boss. Based on this argument Wafula Wakoli is not fit to oversight Lusaka. We also want to send a message to Young people that you can join politics without hanging on any senior politicians. Raidon Munoko may not meet all the requirements of a leader we want but he can help us solve some political equations.
The Bungoma Senate Race becomes sweet and interesting as days near the voting day.
