 CPD- State House Kenya.

President William Ruto.

The Kazi Mtaani Programme will be converted into a tree-planting initiative, President William Ruto has announced.

He said the move will help address the adverse effects of the climate change that Kenya is facing.

“We have to initiate long-term resilience activities to cushion the people against drought and food insecurity,”  ~~President William Ruto.

He spoke at State House in Nairobi on Friday when he exchanged views with the business community and development partners on the drought situation in Kenya.

The President said the situation was still dire especially in 20 counties due to crop failure as a result of failed rains.

“We must consolidate our solution to the situation. We are still requesting for more funds targeting more immediate response,” President William Ruto.

He told the meeting that the Government will continue offering support to farmers to produce more food.

  1. We will go to the market & if we find that we cannot borrow at 10% then we will go back and find another way. The last borrowing we did was at 14%, that is unacceptable – President William Ruto

  2. I'm completely against this.. so what's special about planting trees.. this is a program which will take another 2 years to come in action.. what's this antagonism You have to scrap everything from previous regime including a seamless one which gave youths a glimpse of hope as they find purpose in their lives.. I've seen this Government's proposal including channeling funds to Housing agenda & the jobs it'll create.. *QUESTION IS*.. which year will these theories be put in action..
