What you need to know;

  • Dr. Miguna Miguna was responding to Railas' call for the immediate release of Sirisia MP John Waluke.

  • ODM leader Raila Odinga had called upon the government of President Ruto to ensure Waluke was released from jail with immediate effect.

  • Lawyer Miguna argues that Waluke was found guilty and that in respecting the decisions of the court, Waluke should stay in Jail.
During the burial program of the mother to Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa on October 31st, ODM leader and Azimio-One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga initiated an attack to the government and the judiciary for what he termed as not being fair in delivering their judgements.

Kenyans opposition leader questioned why Sirisia Member of Parliament Hon. John Waluke at his 55yesrs of age could be slapped with a 67years jail term, which according to him was not fair.

- MP Waluke was found guilty of embezzling about KShs 297, 000,000 millions in National Cereals Produce Board (NCPB) maize fraud case and was charged for receiving money and billing services he did not deliver together with his business associate Grace Wakhungu whom on the other was slapped with a 69years jail term or 1Billion fine.

How can you condemn a 55year-old to 67years jail term? That is like jailing me(Raila) for 50years. Is that fair? We want Waluke to be granted bond immediately.~~Raila Odinga 31st October, 2022.

In answering the ODM leader, Dr. Miguna Miguna called him off for what he termed as hypocrisy and mantained that Waluke belongs to jail and should remain there.

Miguna Miguna reminded Odinga about his advocacy to the rule of law and in respecting the judiciary not to interfere with their proceedings and orders for a reason the judiciary is an independent institution.

Raila Odinga MUST shut up! He yelled endlessly about the rule of law during the just concluded presidential campaign. Waluke must stay in jail! That is where he belongs. ~~Dr. Miguna Miguna,1st November 2022.

    This guy Muguna will be a thorn in the flesh if not checked. On the matter pertaining Dr. Waluke, as a son of the soil I condemn the court. Him being in jail for what he did is ok but not for that long. Kwani was there any other thing besides Hui maneno ya pesa ama nini....
