“DO NOT TREAT COURT ORDERS LIKE A TISSUE PAPER, YOU ARE A PRODUCT OF THE JUDICIARY.” HON. MASINDE TO PRESIDENT RUTO.

 What you need to know:

  • Hon. Julius Masinde was reacting to President William Ruto's recent utterances on disrespecting some court orders.
  • He calls upon the government to adhere to all court orders for or against their wishes.

In what has been seen as a direct attack to the Judiciary, leaders across the divide have teamed up against the head of state in his recent pronouncements directed at the judiciary. They are expressing doubt and are much concerned on the direction President William Ruto’s Kenya kwanza government wants to take as far as the independence of the judiciary is concerned.

After activist Okiya Omtatah ‘s harsh defense on the Judiciary, Hon. Julius Masinde, former senatorial candidate in Bungoma’s by-election has joined up guns blazing.

To Hon. Masinde, President William Ruto and his government are products of the judiciary without which he couldn’t be peaceably holding the position.

Hon. Masinde flashbacks the supreme court decision that uphold President William Ruto’s presidential elections and wonder’s why the same court was useful then only to be useless when he “thinks he does not need it,” or when it rules against his wishes.

As a President, Hon. Masinde demands that the head of state and his government stands to be defendants of the supreme constitution thus respecting court orders that are anchored on the prescribes of the very same constitution failure to which he terms as a recipe for anarchy.

President Ruto is a product of the judiciary, his government cannot and should not treat Court orders as a tissue paper, that is a recipe for anarchy…

Hon. Julius Masinde in a past Media Interview

Among the court orders that are believed to provoke the President’s reaction includes the rulling on the housing Levy among others that are championed by the government of which the court found unconstitutional.

Hon. Masinde likens President Ruto’s actions as one treating court orders like a tissue paper which in his opinion breeds anarchy and as the head of state, he should be keen on that especially in respect to the independence of the judiciary.
