Photo Courtesy: Hon. Didmus Barasa, Kimilili MP In Bungoma, amidst constant factors, the race for the county leadership is quietly being won, driven by evident factors. Furthermore, potential competitors to Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa are confident that the local system may undermine the vibrant MP, serving as a through pass, "TABA!" Following the 2017 general elections, the then Deputy President, now President, Dr. William Ruto, harbored ambitions of leading Kenya. Rumors suggest that the duo (UhuRuto) had signed an MOU prior, with President Uhuru Kenyatta supporting Ruto's ambitions. However, with the handshake and subsequent shifts, allegiances changed. William Ruto, a political master planner, wasted no time initiating his campaigns, preparing for an uncertain future. Despite calls to focus on his duties as DP, he proceeded cautiously. Eventually, the system attempted to thwart his ambitions, but it was too late. During this period, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was an at

Trans-Nzoia Gov. George Natembeya  Likened to a pregnant cow about to give birth, Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has been clear about his mission to fight for the people of Western Kenya, promising a more practical approach than his predecessors, with whom he has declared war. In his speeches over the past few months, Gov. Natembeya has specifically targeted NA Speaker Wetangula's Simba Party, Ford Kenya, terming it an old, ineffective institution that should be shut down due to its failure to deliver to the people of Western Kenya. Gov. Natembeya has called on all Western Kenya communities to rally behind him to reach Canaan, which he claims to have seen. " I have seen Canaan, and I can attest that Canaan is good. I want to take you all to Canaan without leaving anyone behind ." The governor has urged Western Kenya to unite under one party, similar to how other communities consolidate for greater bargaining power, rather than fragmenting into factions, which onl

What an outstanding performance! After a resounding 4-0 victory against hosts Malawi in the recently concluded four-nation’s tournament, many Kenyans might have anticipated the usual inconsistency from our national team, perhaps fearing a loss in the next match or faltering in the final. However, to our delight, the team displayed remarkable consistency and determination, culminating in a convincing 3-1 win over Zimbabwe to clinch the tournament title. Team Kenya after winning the 4-nations tournament in Malawi  One cannot overlook the significant contribution of the team captain, coupled with the collective zeal, zest, and passion exhibited by the entire squad. It’s evident that motivation has permeated the team, leading to consecutive victories, not just by narrow margins, but with significant goal differences. Credit must be given to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their commendable efforts thus far. Their role in fostering a conducive environment for sporting success cannot

WHICH WAY, MULEMBE? WHO BEWITCHED YOU?

( EoK Editorial ) Behaving like the later-day Galatians, power has taken root deep within those who are meant to unite the community, and the cycle of disunity is evident in the second most populous community in Kenya. Everyone now seems to vie for superiority over one another. Who bewitched you? In the past, disunity was evident, later, unity prevailed, exemplified by the Bukusu (Wetangula) and the Maragoli (Mudavadi), who found common purpose yielding fruitful results. Yet now, issues that should bound the community together are addressed through public confrontations, igniting violence and discord within the larger Mulembe community. It's now Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya against National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, with no resolution in sight, only further division. Who bewitched you? Governor Natembeya, while it's important to voice your opinions, resorting to violence only exacerbates the situation. Perhaps it's better to remain silent than to contribute
