Hon. Fred Joshua Makokha has once again demonstrated his hands-on approach to youth empowerment after successfully connecting and securing a job for Martha Ikehe, a young graduate from Matili village in Kimilili Ward, as an Assistant Co-Driver at the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

Martha, who holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Rift Valley Technical Training Institute, had been struggling to find employment for months. Her breakthrough came after Hon. Fred Joshua leveraged his growing network and influence to connect her with the opportunity—proving that practical leadership can open real doors for constituents.

“This is what I mean when I talk about leadership that delivers. Martha’s story is just the beginning. I will continue pushing until more young people in Kimilili find meaningful work and dignity,” said Fred Joshua Makokha, who has declared interest in the Kimilili parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Martha expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the support and said the opportunity had changed her life.

“Many of us have the papers but lack the connections. Hon. Fred believed in me and walked with me until this happened,” she said.

As the political wave begins to stir ahead of 2027, Fred Joshua’s growing profile as a champion for grassroots empowerment is drawing attention across Bungoma. His latest intervention underscores a leadership model rooted in action—not promises.

With Kimilili’s youth unemployment crisis still rampant, his supporters say this is the kind of representation the constituency needs.

Martha is expected to report to work next week Wednesday.
